James Lo

James Lo is Co-Founder & CEO of Ethos, the AI business intelligence platform backed by General Catalyst, 8VC, Conviction and AI leaders at Google DeepMind and Amazon. Ethos developed the world’s first end-to-end automated expert network, using AI to discover and interview experts at scale to serve research insights to hundreds of investment, consulting and corporate firms. Their work has been featured on Fortune, Sifted, and recognized by AWS as among top 80 world-changing AI startups.

James began his career at McKinsey, advising leading private equity firms and consumer brands on value creation with technology, before joining SoftBank to lead transformations and turnarounds at portfolio companies such as WeWork and Arm.

Beyond entrepreneurship, James is a passionate advocate for liberty and social mobility. He has contributed to policy roundtables at 10 Downing Street and the EU AI Champions Initiative, served as an advisor to the United Nations on widening internet access for education, and was a member of the UK’s national advisory group for careers education. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
